![]() ![]() The types of features that will be behind the subscription model are expected to be sound and performance-based features influenced by other teams in Soundwide (the parent company of NI, which now includes iZotope, Plugin Alliance, and Brainworx). Essentially, NI is using this Pro Plus tier of subscribers to allow early access to features instead of waiting until a major version is released (and charging for that upgrade then). Since there’s not very much information out yet, we’ll largely quote from Traktor’s press release hidden inside of their Beta update. ![]() But today, the Traktor team has announced that major new features being built in this development cycle will be behind an add-on subscription, called Traktor Pro Plus. We speculated that maybe even NKS support was behind it. Yearly subscription users are being offered a 50% discount on the upgrade until 1 September.New features in Native Instruments’ DJ software, Traktor Pro 3, have been relatively slow to release until a recent public beta that hinted at even more upcoming functionality. Anyone interested in the package can sign up now for a free trial. It costs £4.49 per month or £44 per year. Traktor Pro Plus is available on a subscription basis to Pro 3 subscribers. If they choose to start their Pro Plus subscription back up again, their settings will have been retained. If Pro Plus users decide to cancel their subscription, their Pro Plus settings and mappings will be saved and their subscription will revert back to the Pro 3 selection of features. ![]() ![]() More Soundwide plug-ins – three to four per year, according to Native Instruments – will be added to Traktor Pro 3 for Pro Plus users each year. This could come in handy when keeping the energy high during a transition, for example. Traktor Pattern Player offers built-in sound packs of percussion loops that can be added over tracks. Maximiser is a limiter that includes various modes of iZotope’s limiting algorithm, Intelligent Release Control, meaning users can reign in loud kick drums, for example. ![]()
